This seminar follows on from the recent Computers & Law Journal article on “Managing Cyber Security”. As such, it expands on several of the elements in the article and delves into the governance of information security. The seminar will explain the typical “people, processes and tools” model which must be understood at a high level so that counsel and the board can have confidence that reasonable controls are in place and operating correctly. This is not a technology presentation, but will nevertheless describe enough for attendees to ask appropriate questions back at the office (and not just of the IT folk!).

Paul Doman

Paul Doman is a freelance IT professional with over 30 years of experience, more recently covering information security as a primary area of interest. Projects he has worked on include improving security in enterprises, where much of the effort has gone into raising the awareness of information security as a business and behavioural objective.

Paul’s objectives are to help people and businesses to appreciate the value of their information assets, to recognise the risks to those assets, and to devise pragmatic approaches to managing (or accepting) those risks.
