Intellectual Property and Patent Strategy for Startups

  • 16 Jun 2017
  • 09:30
  • Squire Patton Boggs; Level 10; Gateway Building; 1 Macquarie Place, Sydney

This meetup will include a discussion on intellectual property portfolio development and licensing strategy, as well as distilled strategies for defending against inevitable patent litigation in highly litigious markets such as the United States. As a successful startup expanding into the US and beyond, patent litigation is in the cards, and Australian startups and their investors who ignore patents do so at their peril.

Richard is an experienced, dual-qualified US and Australian corporate and technology lawyer, advising clients in both the US (in particular Silicon Valley) and Australia. He is a member of the firm’s US and Australian venture capital and intellectual property and technology practice groups, and is the chair of those groups in Australia.
