We are excited that we have finally secured Boris Guennewig as a speaker for this event, who will talk about his experiences in starting up a company for analysing big data in Sydney.

Boris Guennewig

Boris is a senior lecturer at The University of Sydney and an entrepreneur in the area of bioinformatics and statistics.  His company, Pacific Analytics, develops infrastructure, software and pipelines to manage, analyze and mine large complex data sets in different fields including medical research. He focuses on the identification and characterization of genetic variation and transcriptional changes influencing complex human diseases (such as bipolar disorder, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, etc.).

Boris will talk about value-add to his clients through functional integration of high-dimensional biological (omics) data, in combination with statistical, genetics and data mining.

Boris will also share his view on how his statistical approach can be applied to a wide range of different industries.

Drinks and finger food will be provided at the iconic Wine Emporium located at the Australian Heritage Hotel.  Please join us for what will be an enjoyable evening to discuss the year gone by and what lies ahead for next year!
