Our August Seminar:

will be presented by Helen Brown

Metadata is technical information stored on a network, computer or device or in an application or electronic file about a communication. This presentation will help practitioners understand what information can be revealed by an examination of metadata and how to avoid disclosure of client confidential and privileged information through inadvertent disclosure of metadata to third parties.

We will explore the practical reasons practitioners need to know about metadata, how  metadata can be unknowingly disclosed, negative consequences of disclosure, key learnings from three recent decisions, practical tips on how to manage metadata (your own and others) in business software used by most of us every day and best practice for creation, management, archiving and destruction of metadata in all types of communications.

Our Speaker

Helen is a solicitor in the Office of General Counsel at the University of Sydney. She specialises in intellectual property, commercial and research work.

Please join us, starting at 6PM, for a great seminar and refreshments.
